Canoeing

Canoe Denton Creek from DFW Adventure Park, all the way to Lake Grapevine. Paddle through some of the prettiest and most remote areas in our region. Rent the canoes on your own or take a guided tour. Either way, we can drop you off and pick you up on the other end at Lake Grapevine and bring you back to DFWAP.

The depth and flow rate of the water are weather related so call ahead to inquire about the water condition prior to planning your canoe trip. (817) 854-0085

Important Information — Please Read ! ! !

  • Being able to swim is important. DFW Adventure Park highly recommends being able to swim and wearing a life jacket at all times.

  • Be prepared to port (carry) your canoe over shallow areas.

  • DFWAP recommends wearing shoes (ie: tennis shoes) that you don't mind getting wet. You will most likely get your shoes wet at some point. Being bare foot is a bad idea!

  • Bring a camera if you want to photograph the wildlife. This is a remote creek with all sorts of birds and critters and... yes, snakes too.

  • A cell phone or two-way radio is a good idea. Protect them from getting wet (plastic bag). A first aid kit, drinks/snacks are also recommended.

  • Portions of this route are remote and difficult to access by land. Be familiar with the route and be as prepared as possible for all contingencies. BE CAREFUL AND HAVE FUN!

  • If case of emergency, call 911 immediately. Also call DFWAP at (817) 854-0085.
